Our history,

your nest

Hospitality for us is synonymous with family. Haus Gobbis was born in the 1960s out of our father’s desire to welcome people from all over the world, at a time when the concept of globalisation was still a long way off.

We grew up having breakfast in our home together with tourists and guests. With our pajamas on, our eyes still half-closed and our souls ready to listen to stories of faraway places.

Haus Gobbis was born from here: from our innate sense of hospitality, closely bound to our family and local traditions. Today, as in the past, it is we sisters, together with all our families, who welcome guests arriving from all continents in search of fresh air, peacefulness, authenticity and great views.

The activities we reccomend

For us, hospitality does not only mean opening the doors of our apartments to you, but also lending you a piece of our heart, and letting you discover the authentic beauty of our territory.

Hiking, trekking and mountain biking
Hiking, trekking and mountain biking
Forget about your car. Some of the most beautiful and spectacular walks in the entire Agordino area start from Haus Gobbis. If you’re looking for a bit of adrenalin, on the other hand, you can enjoy climbing, ski mountaineering, trekking, mountaineering and cycling, all within walking distance.
Cultural and wellness events

Being in the mountains also means relaxing and having time to yourself. That is why we often arrange painting, yoga and cooking sessions, always with the backdrop of the most beautiful Dolomite peaks, of course.
Moments of togetherness
Moments of togetherness
Bread is never missing in Haus Gobbis, nor is salad from our garden, alpine cheese and a good glass of wine. And when the sun goes down behind the peaks, it is time to light the fire and warm up with hot chocolate and chestnuts.

60 years of hospitality

It was August 1964 when our father paid the first government concession fee with a landlord’s licence. The document, which turned up almost by chance, reveals just how these walls have always been used to welcome others.

Maybe it is because of our great-grandfather and his brothers Case dei Giusti, who were all “conthe” who travelled the world bringing their art of chair-making and living off the hospitality of people with the sole objective of being able to return to the only place where their hearts would feel at home: Gosaldo.

If these walls

could talk

I’ve been here for a while, I don’t remember exactly, but in my opinion, half a century has passed since I was built, and the Croda has been incessantly watching over me ever since.

I’ve been here for a while / I don’t remember exactly / but in my opinion

half a century has passed / since I was built / and the Croda has been incessantly watching over me ever since.

A Venetian mind designed me / I don’t know who laid the first stone / but I’ve certainly suffered / from the mistakes of those who gave birth to me.

The coat didn’t make me / the porch all open / and the attic they thought well of leaving it wide open.

I sure was beautiful / but to get bought / quite a bit I had to wait.

Finally he came / an interested boy / he looked at me, he liked me / and so he wanted me.

I felt intoxicated / but the happiness didn’t last long / he disappeared without warning / he left me only a smile.

Some time has passed / but here he comes back happy / chin high, proud step / and the bride with her veil.

I watch them closely / and wink at them / I already feel their warmth / and envy their love.

The faults of he who created me / have caught him unprepared / and winter without wood / sounds like blasphemy.

Without respite and with such zeal / he works a whole year / now he’s ready, let winter come too / he waits for it with the axe.

But what is this noise / it’s an unexpected sound / of sweetness it’s very rich / and it almost never stops.

What am I saying it’s really beautiful / much more than a bell / the wailing of a child / and it fills my little heart.

Oh what fun years / of smiling children / some run, some laugh / some dive into the snow.

Yes the house was filled / with caresses and so much life / at that time the swing / went like a chain.

They really did a nice job / three little girls and a little angel / who flew up into the sky / and protects the whole world.

His poor mother / without anger and with great strength / carries this cross.

The years pass very quickly / between studies and other games / the girls have grown / and already become women.

All of them have found a man / and abandoned the nest / and it falls to me with ardour / to bid them farewell reluctantly.

But what a feast when they return / the side dish is already ready / that mum has accompanied

to her excellent pot roast / and to dad, who’s a bit of a tough guy / his heart weeps for sure.

It came unexpectedly / hurricane of pain / leaves our hearts in tatters

nothing more can calm / mitigate or buffer / all the emptiness you left / in that abandoned nest.

And it’s you again this time / that gives strength to everyone / and helps to go on.

Now I am often alone / the doors chained / and the walls frozen

but I already know that in spring / she still returns proud / to reopen her house / to prune her rose.

And so that I do not forget them / as a gift they have given me / a colourful mural.

To all you grandchildren / if you come near / wait a little moment / be patient even a little.

She will undoubtedly say to you: / ‘A far bene no se ha mai sbaià’

and they have done so much good / without showing off about it / use them as an example for you

HONEST LIFE / LOTS OF LOVE / AND THE PEACE OF THE LORD!
